Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a consistent blow out of the S and pressure sitting still. The fish at Lac Squamish are likely to sit near the margins and the shelf beyond them. The day fishes best from night into morning. Pick two or three spots and rotate them. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

In Quebec, Lac Squamish falls inside Mauricie. It stands 522 metres above sea level. About 7 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. The closest town, Laurentides, is 58 km away. Beyond it, La Tuque at 60 km and Métabetchouan at 82 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Reported across Mauricie: northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. The county list is broader than any single water. The shape of Lac Squamish rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. On Lac Squamish that shapes the whole year.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Cupule, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Where Lac Squamish is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
