Dull, settled light over the water, with flat calm through the day and no real change in pressure. The productive water at Lac Slawson will be around the shallows early and the drop later. A grinding day likely, with the evening worth the effort if any is. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lac Slawson in the Nord-du-Québec part of Quebec. It lies 397 metres above sea level. The water covers some 62 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. With about 4.4 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. Waswanipi is the closest place, 70 km off. Beyond it, Chapais at 76 km and Lebel-sur-Quévillon at 108 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Slawson that means starting tight and working out.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -19°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. At Lac Slawson the season follows that pattern closely.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Bonnemain at 3.6 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Slawson in what we hold.
