Damp, showery conditions today, with a working S breeze and pressure sitting still. Whatever swims in Lac Shitagoo should be near inflow corners and shaded margins. The best of it runs night into morning. Small adjustments will matter more than big moves. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Shitagoo is a Mauricie water, Quebec side. The water sits 359 metres up. It runs to roughly 11 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. Shoreline comes to about 2.0 km, small enough to learn in a day. La Tuque lies 29 km from the water. Laurentides is 40 km away, with Sainte-Thècle at 75 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Records held for Mauricie cover northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. At Lac Shitagoo light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect July near 17°C and January near -16°C on the long-run figures. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Lac Shitagoo runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac de l'Amont at 0.3 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Shitagoo in particular, ask before you travel.
