A grey, even sky over the water, with air barely moving and the barometer holding steady. The water to cover at Lac Seymour is the shaded margin through bright spells. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lac Seymour in the Mauricie part of Quebec. It stands 439 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to roughly 1.40 sq km, so plan for one area rather than the whole. Shoreline length is close to 11 km, and each section fishes a little differently. It is among the larger waters listed here for Mauricie. For a base, Manawan sits 41 km out. Further out sit Weymontachie (68 km) and Leblanc (79 km). It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Reported across Mauricie: northern pike, brook trout and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Work Lac Seymour in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -16°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Lac Seymour fishes to that pattern most years.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Failing this one, try Lac du Sentier, 1.7 km away. Nothing on Lac Seymour should be assumed from this page alone.
