A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a light S breeze and steady pressure. Start the search at Lac Sepanuk along bays that hold the day's warmth. Everything points to the night. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Look for Lac Sepanuk in the Mauricie part of Quebec. The bank gives way to boreal forest. This is a pocket water of some 2 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It is a small entry by Mauricie standards. For a base, Weymontachie sits 17 km out. Further out sit Leblanc (57 km) and La Tuque (94 km). One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Read Lac Sepanuk before you fish it and the day goes better.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -17°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Lac Sepanuk runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Our records carry no access rule either way. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Failing this one, try Lac Pisew, 1 km away. Ask locally about Lac Sepanuk if anything is unclear.
