Sun coming and going behind the cloud today, with barely a breath of wind and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Scye should be near sheltered bays and points. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Quebec holds Lac Scye, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. The country here is lake country bush. It is pond-in-a-field scale, with the far bank a short lob away. On size it sits at the modest end of our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list. Notre-Dame-du-Lac lies 105 km from the water. Val-d'Or lies 109 km off, Témiscaming another 109 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac Scye the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
The range across the year is -15°C to 17°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages place the thaw at late April and the freeze at late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. It holds true on Lac Scye more years than not.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Failing this one, try Lac Hellin, 0.4 km away. The position on Lac Scye is worth confirming on the day.
