Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with barely a breath of wind and the barometer holding steady. On Lac Schiller, work structure within a cast of the bank first. The day peaks in the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Lanaudière entry here is Lac Schiller, in Quebec. The bank gives way to boreal forest. At about 46 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. On our Lanaudière list it sits near the top for size. The nearest town is Manawan, 55 km away. Beyond it, Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 60 km and La Tuque at 72 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Survey and observation records for Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Read Lac Schiller before you fish it and the day goes better.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. That is the shape of the year on Lac Schiller.
We hold no note on access for this one. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Rond sits 0.9 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Lac Schiller in what we hold.
