A closed sky with even light today, with light air out of the SSW and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Lac Sally around reed fringes and open pockets. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, is where Lac Sally sits. The setting is boreal forest. It covers about 6 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list holds plenty of bigger water. Leblanc sits 114 km from here and is the nearest stop. It is 269 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Read Lac Sally before you fish it and the day goes better.
The warm month here averages 16°C; the cold one sits at -18°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Lac Sally runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Public data does not answer the access question here. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. If the gate is shut, Lac Rand at 0.5 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Lac Sally as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
