Showers crossing the water today, with light air out of the SSW with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Saint-Pierre is points where shallow meets deep. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Saint-Pierre lies in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Salt water lies 26 km off. Surface area is around 20 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The bank runs about 3.1 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Nearest place of any size is Baie-Comeau, 34 km away. Saguenay sits 246 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Our records hold no depth for this water. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Saint-Pierre fishes better once you know its edges.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -17°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Saint-Pierre.
Public data does not answer the access question here. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Beaudin sits 3.1 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Lac Saint-Pierre in what we hold.
