A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a whisper of wind from the SSW with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Sabla should come off the margins and the shelf beyond them. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

You will find Lac Sabla in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. The country round it is taiga from end to end. Around 14 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The edge runs 2.1 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Nearest town is Senneterre, 98 km off. Gatineau sits 259 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Work Lac Sabla in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The year swings from about -18°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Sabla.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Should this one be busy, Lac Zavitz is 1.9 km off. Nothing on Lac Sabla should be assumed from this page alone.
