Flat light and a covered sky today, with flat calm through the day with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Roy along inflow corners and shaded margins. The forecast backs the stretch from morning through afternoon. Ride the conditions while they last. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Roy belongs to Laurentides, Quebec. Elevation runs to 199 metres. Small even by pond standards, it rewards one careful line. Most waters listed here for Laurentides are larger. Head to Lac-Alouette, 4.5 km away, for anything you forgot. Terrasse-des-Pins follows at 5.3 km, then Saint-Jérôme at 6.3 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Survey and observation records for Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Take Lac Roy a stretch at a time.
The year swings from about -12°C in January to roughly 19°C in July. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about early December. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. That shapes the year on Lac Roy.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Pineault at 1.9 km is the sensible second choice. Where Lac Roy is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
