Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a whisper of wind from the SSW with the barometer flat. Most of the action on Lac Rosier should come off the calm side of the wind. Set the alarm around the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

In Quebec, Lac Rosier falls inside Mauricie. Elevation runs to 425 metres. The far bank is a conversation away, so keep low and quiet. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Mauricie. The nearest place of any size is La Tuque, 57 km away. Weymontachie lies 57 km off, Manawan another 67 km. Within a short drive: Lac Epic within 0.7 km, Lac Romeo just 1.6 km, Lac Bernard within 1.8 km, Lac Arthur just 1.8 km and Lac Druce within 2 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Survey and observation records for Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Treat Lac Rosier as a water to read rather than to cover.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Plan around that when you fish Lac Rosier.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Epic, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Rosier for certain.
