A grey, even sky over the water, with a whisper of wind from the SW with the barometer flat. Fish at Lac Rosario should hold close to the first drop-off and weed lines. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Rosario is one of the Côte-Nord waters in Quebec. The bank is 232 metres above sea level. Small at around 10 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. About 2.1 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. The closest town, Port-Cartier, is 34 km distant. Saguenay is the closest city, 331 km away. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Take Lac Rosario a stretch at a time.
Seasonal averages run from -17°C in January up to 16°C in July. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Rosario runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Should this one be busy, Lac Cache is 0.7 km off. Check the current arrangement for Lac Rosario.
