Solid cloud cover today, with a mirror surface most of the day and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Roost should be near inflow corners and shaded margins. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Lac Roost sits within Laurentides in Quebec. Around the bank it is boreal forest. Around 52 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. You are looking at roughly 6.3 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. On our Laurentides list it sits near the top for size. Ferme-Neuve lies 78 km from the water. Further out sit Mont-Laurier (93 km) and Saint-Boniface (96 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Across Laurentides, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Roost gives up more to patience than to distance.
Expect July near 17°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Expect Lac Roost to follow that timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Teddy, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Lac Roost.
