Overcast skies today, with a soft WSW wind and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lac Rond should be near inflow corners and shaded margins. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Look for Lac Rond in the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean part of Quebec. The sea is 39 km distant. This is a pocket water of some 4 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list holds plenty of bigger water. Some 38 km away sits Saint-Honoré, the nearest settlement. For a city, Saguenay is 47 km off. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. The shape of Lac Rond decides where the fish sit.
Between January at about -19°C and July at about 15°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid May. Average temperatures cross freezing around mid May in spring and again near early November in autumn. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan around that when you fish Lac Rond.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. If the gate is shut, Lac Croteau at 0.8 km is the nearest alternative. Rules at Lac Rond are worth checking on the day.
