Patchy cloud over the water after dark, with just enough W wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Lac Rond should fish best around the seam between weed and open water today. The strongest window runs from night into morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Laurentides, Quebec, is where Lac Rond sits. The water sits 257 metres up. Surface area is around 12 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. About 2.1 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Some 11 km away sits Mont-Laurier, the nearest settlement. Ferme-Neuve follows at 14 km, then Rivière-Rouge at 43 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac Rond gives up more to patience than to distance.
The year swings from about -15°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late April. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Lac Rond runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. For a change of water, Lac Desjardins is 0.6 km distant. Check the current arrangement for Lac Rond.
