Heavy overcast holding through the day, with light air out of the W and no real change in pressure. Lac Rond should fish best around structure within a cast of the bank today. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Rond is one of the Lanaudière waters in Quebec. It stands 434 metres above sea level. At about 10 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline comes to about 1.5 km, small enough to learn in a day. Saint-Michel-des-Saints sits 40 km from the bank. Beyond it, Mandeville at 52 km and Saint-Élie-de-Caxton at 53 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Lac Rond gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -15°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. The season on Lac Rond follows the weather closely.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. For a change of water, Lac du Morillon is 1 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Rond in what we hold.
