The Laurentides end of Quebec holds Lac Rochon. It sits 36 km in from the sea. The water measures roughly 9 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Sauveur, 4.2 km away. For a city, Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is 33 km off. Other water within reach: Lac Violon about 0.7 km, 0.7 km out stands Lac Cupidon, Lac Boucane about 1 km, 1.3 km out stands Lac Marois and Lac Denis about 1.3 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. The county list is broader than any single water. Work Lac Rochon in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Average temperature peaks around 19°C in July and bottoms out near -12°C in January. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. From about late April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Rochon.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac Violon sits 0.7 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position on Lac Rochon before loading the car.
