Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a faint S drift and pressure sitting still. Give the seam between weed and open water the first hour at Lac Rocheux. One clear peak today: the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Lanaudière entry here is Lac Rocheux, in Quebec. Land around it is rolling bush. With some 22 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Around 3.2 km of margin, front to back. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Supplies mean a trip to Sainte-Béatrix, 22 km off. Saint-Jean-de-Matha lies 23 km off, Saint-Gabriel another 30 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Survey and observation records for Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. On Lac Rocheux a short move beats a long cast.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -15°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. At Lac Rocheux the season follows that pattern closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Tellier at 1.1 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing on Lac Rocheux should be assumed from this page alone.
