Solid cloud cover today, with dead-still conditions with the glass holding level. Fish at Lac Roc should hold close to the first drop-off and weed lines. The day peaks in the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Roc stands in Mauricie, Quebec. The land about it is taiga. It runs to roughly 27 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. Roughly 4.1 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. Manawan sits 46 km from the bank. Then Weymontachie, 49 km, and Leblanc, 70 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Species logged across Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Read Lac Roc before you fish it and the day goes better.
The seasonal spread runs -16°C to 16°C. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Lac Roc runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Blanc sits 2 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac Roc, the notice at the access point is the final word.
