Rain on and off through the day, with a proper ripple driven from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac Robin will be around structure within a cast of the bank. Numbers are low everywhere; the morning is the pick of them. Go lighter and slower than usual. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

The Lanaudière entry here is Lac Robin, in Quebec. The bank is 422 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to about 8 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Manawan is the closest place, 22 km off. Then Saint-Michel-des-Saints, 90 km, and Weymontachie, 91 km. Others worth noting: Lac Kamicta Minictikowok roughly 1.3 km, Lac du Pit de Sable at 1.8 km, Lac Margot roughly 2 km, Lac Francois at 2.1 km and Lac Bedard roughly 2.4 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Lanaudière records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Robin gives up more to patience than to distance.
The seasonal spread runs -16°C to 17°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Lac Robin runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Kamicta Minictikowok sits 1.3 km off and takes the overflow. The position on Lac Robin is worth confirming on the day.
