Steady rain over the water today, with dead-still conditions and steady pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Rick around the weed line and any gaps in it. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Rick falls in Mauricie, part of Quebec. The setting is northern bush on every side. Surface area runs to about 4 hectares — small enough to read in one session. On size it sits at the modest end of our Mauricie list. Manawan is the closest town at 112 km. Leblanc follows at 114 km, then Ferme-Neuve at 116 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout and walleye. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Lac Rick gives up more to patience than to distance.
Between January at about -17°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. At Lac Rick the season follows that pattern closely.
We hold no note on access for this one. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Lac Calf is 1 km off. Signs at Lac Rick carry more weight than any list.
