A grey, even sky over the water, with an easy breeze from the SSW with the barometer flat. Most of the action on Lac Remo should come off structure within a cast of the bank. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

This water sits in Laurentides, Quebec. The surroundings are northern bush. With some 10 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Around 1.4 km of margin, front to back. Head to Ferme-Neuve, 64 km away, for anything you forgot. The big place round here is Gatineau, 198 km distant. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Remo gives up more to patience than to distance.
In an average year July sits at 17°C and January at -17°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan around that when you fish Lac Remo.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. The nearest alternative is Lac Naiomi, 1.5 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Remo in what we hold.
