Soft grey light all day today, with a light chop building from the SSW with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac Reddy are likely to sit near structure within a cast of the bank. Quiet conditions all day, with the evening marginally better. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

The Abitibi-Témiscamingue entry here is Lac Reddy, in Quebec. It lies 439 metres above sea level. At 7 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Supplies mean a trip to Ferme-Neuve, 110 km off. After that come Saint-Boniface at 117 km and Senneterre at 122 km. Close neighbours run: Lac Lyle roughly 3 km, Lac Dore out at 3.2 km, Lac Cotts roughly 4.7 km, Lac Brind out at 4.8 km and Lac Haire roughly 4.8 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. County-wide records name northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Reddy responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Long-term averages put July at about 16°C and January near -18°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Reddy.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Lyle, 3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Lac Reddy.
