Dull, settled light over the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S with the barometer flat. Give inflow corners and shaded margins the first hour at Lac Raymond. The morning carries the best of the day. Ride the conditions while they last. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Lac Raymond in the Laurentides part of Quebec. The surroundings are lake country bush. The water covers some 62 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The bank runs about 4.4 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. On our Laurentides list it sits near the top for size. Val-Morin lies 1.7 km from the water. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 44 km distant. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Public occurrence data for Laurentides names pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Raymond responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Lac Raymond fishes to that pattern most years.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. A ramp is mapped within 900 m. Parking sits 710 m out, which makes for a walk with tackle. Picnic facilities are recorded some 910 m out. There are toilets 930 m off. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. If the gate is shut, Lac la Fourche at 0.9 km is the nearest alternative. For Lac Raymond in particular, ask before you travel.
