A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a firm SSW blow with a settled glass. The productive water at Lac Pitobik will be around the shaded margin through bright spells. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lac Pitobik in Outaouais, Quebec. Land around it is rolling bush. It covers about 2 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is a small entry by Outaouais standards. The closest town, Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, is 20 km away. Ripon is 21 km away, with Saint-André-Avellin at 28 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Lac Pitobik responds to conditions more than to tactics.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 18°C, while January sits near -14°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Lac Pitobik runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac des Grives, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Rules at Lac Pitobik are worth checking on the day.
