Steady rain over the water today, with a working S breeze and pressure sitting still. Fish at Lac Pit should hold close to windblown banks where food collects. The day fishes best from night into morning. Pick two or three spots and rotate them. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Pit sits in Mauricie, out in Quebec. The bank is 459 metres above sea level. At roughly 2 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. On size it sits at the modest end of our Mauricie list. La Tuque is the closest place, 29 km off. The big place round here is Sainte-Foy, 119 km distant. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Lac Pit repays a walk before the first cast.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. That is the shape of the year on Lac Pit.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Lac Willie, 0.5 km out. For Lac Pit in particular, ask before you travel.
