Rain moving through today, with an easy breeze from the S with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac Piskis around points where shallow meets deep. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Look for Lac Piskis in the Mauricie part of Quebec. The bank is 484 metres above sea level. At roughly 8 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Supplies mean a trip to Weymontachie, 21 km off. Saguenay sits 193 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Lac Piskis gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 16°C, while January sits near -17°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Piskis runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Oskatuk, 0.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Lac Piskis before loading the car.
