Flat light and a covered sky today, with a faint SSW drift and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Pierre should come off the weed line and any gaps in it. A hard day on paper; the evening edges the rest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Look for Lac Pierre in the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean part of Quebec. The water sits 699 metres up. It measures about 96 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The outline measures near 9.4 km, so local knowledge counts. On our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list it sits near the top for size. For a base, Saint-Honoré sits 42 km out. It is 53 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Fish Lac Pierre where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Expect July near 15°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from mid May. Ice usually gives way near mid May, and forms again about early November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Lac Pierre fishes to that pattern most years.
Public data does not answer the access question here. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Launching is at Débarcadère, about 850 m away. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. The nearest alternative is Lac Fane, 1.4 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Pierre in what we hold.
