An even grey lid over the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac Pierre around windblown banks where food collects. Save your energy for the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Set in Lanaudière, Quebec, this is Lac Pierre. It lies 241 metres above sea level. Roughly 59 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. A shoreline of some 4.9 km keeps the choices simple. It ranks high for size among our Lanaudière listings. The nearest town is Sainte-Béatrix, 5.2 km away. Terrebonne sits 55 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Survey and observation records for Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Pierre fishes better once you know its edges.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -14°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. It holds true on Lac Pierre more years than not.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. A slipway 1.1 km out gives trailer access. There is recorded parking some 530 m off. A jetty or pier is mapped about 400 m from here. Picnic facilities are recorded some 1.1 km out. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Loyer, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Lac Pierre.
