  Lac Peso is a Mauricie water, Quebec side. Beyond the shoreline you have rolling bush. This is a tiny water, and one quiet approach covers all of it. It is a small entry by Mauricie standards. The closest town, Laurentides, is 42 km away. Beyond it, La Tuque at 52 km and Saint-Raymond at 70 km. This one is safely inside the county line.

• Where to Fish on Lac Peso

  The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout and walleye among the fish reported. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Lac Peso gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.

• Seasonal Patterns

  July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -16°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Expect Lac Peso to follow that timing.

For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Some banks are open only from a marked point.
