Solid cloud cover today, with a gentle ripple from the S with a settled glass. Give inflow corners and shaded margins the first hour at Lac Perreault. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Outaouais, Quebec, is where Lac Perreault sits. The ground round it is pine and birch. This is sizeable water at about 1.36 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. You are looking at roughly 5.1 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. It ranks high for size among our Outaouais listings. For a base, Saint-Raphaël sits 13 km out. Beyond it, Maniwaki at 28 km and Saint-Boniface at 40 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Fish Lac Perreault where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 19°C, while January sits near -13°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Plan any trip to Lac Perreault around it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows a campsite some 630 m from the water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. For a change of water, Lac Paquin is 1.9 km distant. Rules at Lac Perreault are worth checking on the day.
