A grey, even sky over the water, with a light chop building from the SW with the glass holding level. The productive water at Lac Percival will be around reed fringes and open pockets. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Percival lies within the bounds of Quebec. Everything around it is mixed forest. The water covers some 14 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Around 2.6 km of margin, front to back. Supplies mean a trip to Mattawa, 29 km off. It is 205 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. At Lac Percival the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes. Sunken banks and old ditches show as changes in surface texture.
Seasonal averages run from -14°C in January up to 18°C in July. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. On Lac Percival the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Bowie at 0.8 km is the sensible second choice. The position on Lac Percival is worth confirming on the day.
