An even grey lid over the water, with a whisper of wind from the SSW with a settled glass. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Lac Pearson. A stay-home graph, with the morning as the one excuse to go. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Pearson is one of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue waters in Quebec. The ground round it is boreal forest. Around 63 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. Around 5.1 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. Size puts it in the front rank of our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list. Senneterre sits 100 km from the bank. Val-d'Or follows at 126 km, then Barraute at 128 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Survey and observation records for Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Anyone new to Lac Pearson should walk it once before setting up.
The range across the year is -18°C to 17°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Lac Pearson fishes to that pattern most years.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. For a change of water, Lac Arcand is 1.1 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Pearson in what we hold.
