No direct sun expected today, with a whisper of wind from the W with a settled glass. Lac Patrick should fish best around bays that hold the day's warmth today. The productive run goes morning through afternoon. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Patrick is a Mauricie water, Quebec side. Beyond the shoreline you have pine and birch. With some 20 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Roughly 2.5 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. Head to Shawinigan, 22 km away, for anything you forgot. Trois-Rivières is the closest city, 51 km away. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac Patrick rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -14°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Patrick.
We hold no note on access for this one. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows a campsite some 1.1 km from the water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Should this one be busy, Lac Fourchu is 1.7 km off. Check the current arrangement for Lac Patrick.
