Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a kind S breeze on the water and steady pressure. Activity on Lac Patrick should centre on the first drop-off and weed lines. The morning is where the day comes good. Ride the conditions while they last. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Patrick is set in Lanaudière, Quebec. The surface lies 344 metres up. About 1.63 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. There is roughly 10 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. It ranks high for size among our Lanaudière listings. Chertsey sits 8 km from here and is the nearest stop. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne sits 47 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits near the edge of the county, so check which rules apply.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Lanaudière list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Lac Patrick the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Patrick.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Lac Racette is 1.6 km off. Check the position at Lac Patrick before loading the car.
