Stars out and no cloud tonight, with light air out of the SW with the glass holding level. The water to cover at Lac Pandour is reed fringes and open pockets. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, this is Lac Pandour. The bank is 359 metres above sea level. Around 22 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. Around 2.6 km of margin, front to back. The nearest place of any size is Val-d'Or, 69 km away. Further out sit Senneterre (79 km) and Malartic (91 km). This one is safely inside the county line.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Pandour responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -16°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Pandour.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Lac Kalfort is 0.7 km off. Treat access at Lac Pandour as something to verify.
