Flat light and a covered sky today, with a light chop building from the SSW with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac Pageot along sheltered bays and points. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

In Quebec, Lac Pageot belongs to Outaouais. The country round it is lake country bush from end to end. About 5 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Supplies mean a trip to Saint-Boniface, 69 km off. For a city, Gatineau is 181 km off. Near neighbours include: Lac Ambillou near enough 0.3 km, Lac du Rabbin after 1.5 km, Lac Galgan near enough 2.1 km, Lac Anglin after 2.3 km and Lac Nagear near enough 2.5 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Public occurrence data for Outaouais names pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Pageot gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -17°C in January. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Pageot runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Ambillou, 0.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Pageot in particular, ask before you travel.
