Dull, settled light over the water, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lac Oublie should come off sheltered bays and points. The night is where the day comes good. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Lac Oublie in Lanaudière, Quebec. The country here is northern bush. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. For a base, Saint-Michel-des-Saints sits 22 km out. It is 120 km to Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, the nearest city. Within a short drive: Lac Trout about 1 km, Lac Savane some 1.1 km off, Lac Jens about 2.1 km, Lac Rouille some 2.6 km off and Lac Descoteaux about 2.7 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. At Lac Oublie the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -15°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. On Lac Oublie that shapes the whole year.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Sort the permit out before you load the car. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. The nearest alternative is Lac Trout, 1 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Oublie in what we hold.
