A grey, even sky over the water, with a mirror surface most of the day and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Noir should come off shallow cover and weed edges. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Set in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Lac Noir is a Quebec water. Elevation runs to 455 metres. At 10 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Roughly 2.0 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. The nearest town is Pont Rouge, 69 km away. Saguenay is the closest city, 107 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Lac Noir that means starting tight and working out.
The range across the year is -19°C to 16°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Time your trip to Lac Noir by conditions rather than dates.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Rond, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Noir for certain.
