Sun coming and going behind the cloud today, with a light WNW breeze and pressure going nowhere. Activity on Lac Nisk should centre on any hard bottom among the soft. If you pick one session, make it the middle of the day. Settle in and let the day develop. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Nisk stands in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Around the bank it is taiga. At some 2.11 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. You are looking at roughly 11 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. It ranks high for size among our Côte-Nord listings. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Augustin, 59 km away. Further out sit St. Anthony (182 km) and Happy Valley-Goose Bay (233 km). Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. The shape of Lac Nisk rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Long-run averages give July about 13°C and January about -15°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Look for the thaw near mid May; the fishing lifts straight after. The season between ice runs from about mid May to mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Anyone fishing Lac Nisk regularly works to that calendar.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Parame sits 22 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Nisk for certain.
