Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a soft NE wind with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac Navvaataaq around the first drop-off and weed lines. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. Biting air and slow fish: small baits, long pauses.

Lac Navvaataaq falls in Nord-du-Québec, part of Quebec. The setting is boreal forest. Around 34 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The whole outline is near 3.3 km, and most of it is walkable. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. Supplies mean a trip to Salluit, 109 km off. After that come Kinngait at 225 km and Puvirnituq at 251 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Nord-du-Québec: Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Read Lac Navvaataaq for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Expect July near 11°C and January near -25°C on the long-run figures. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Winter locks it down, and late June brings it back. Averages suggest open water from about late June through to roughly mid October. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Navvaataaq.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Failing this one, try Lac Tasialuk Qullipaaq, 4.6 km away. Rules at Lac Navvaataaq are worth checking on the day.
