Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a whisper of wind from the S and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lac Narcisse should centre on bays that hold the day's warmth. The numbers single out the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Quebec holds Lac Narcisse, in Laurentides. Everything around it is pine and birch. At about 15 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline comes to about 1.9 km, small enough to learn in a day. Some 17 km away sits Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard, the nearest settlement. The nearest city of size is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 68 km away. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Survey and observation records for Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Lac Narcisse repays a walk before the first cast.
Temperature averages peak at 18°C in July and bottom out at -14°C in January. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. That is the shape of the year on Lac Narcisse.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Lac au Brochet is 1.1 km off. Check the position at Lac Narcisse before loading the car.
