Clear air and long views across the water tonight, with light air out of the W and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Moray is the margins and the shelf beyond them. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Lac Moray is a Quebec water. The surroundings are taiga. At about 26 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The whole outline is near 3.0 km, and most of it is walkable. For a base, Senneterre sits 68 km out. Barraute follows at 96 km, then Val-d'Or at 102 km. Close by you also have: Lac O'Neil about 2 km, Lac Leonce sits 2 km out, Lac Gilles about 3.8 km, Lac Clairy sits 4.3 km out and Lac Joncas about 4.6 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. County-wide records name northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Anyone new to Lac Moray should walk it once before setting up.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -18°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. At Lac Moray the season follows that pattern closely.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Failing this one, try Lac O'Neil, 2 km away. Confirm access to Lac Moray locally before you travel.
