Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with just enough WSW wind to ripple the surface and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Mo is sheltered bays and points. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Côte-Nord in Quebec is where Lac Mo sits. It sits at 543 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 11 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. About 1.8 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. It sits higher than most water we list in Quebec. Forestville at 73 km is the nearest place to stop. Beyond it, Betsiamites at 87 km and Chute-aux-Outardes at 100 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. County-wide records name logperch. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Take Lac Mo a stretch at a time.
Temperature averages peak at 16°C in July and bottom out at -18°C in January. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Anyone fishing Lac Mo regularly works to that calendar.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac Miny at 0.9 km is the sensible second choice. The position on Lac Mo is worth confirming on the day.
