Overcast skies today, with mild air moving in from the SSW with a settled glass. Start the search at Lac Mitts along any hard bottom among the soft. Not a day the forecast likes; the morning keeps a flicker of interest. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Quebec holds Lac Mitts, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Elevation runs to 479 metres. It measures about 11 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Roughly 1.5 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. Senneterre lies 113 km from the water. For a city, Gatineau is 263 km off. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recorded fish include northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac Mitts the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
In an average year July sits at 16°C and January at -18°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Lac Mitts.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Reamer, 1.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Mitts, the notice at the access point is the final word.
