Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with the surface near flat and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lac Minson should come off any hard bottom among the soft. A slow day overall; the morning is the best of a quiet lot. Go lighter and slower than usual. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Minson sits within Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec. It stands 401 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 63 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge runs 4.1 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. It is among the larger waters listed here for Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Nearest town is Lebel-sur-Quévillon, 82 km off. Waswanipi is 103 km and Senneterre 108 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. County-wide records name northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac Minson fishes better once you know its edges.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Lac Minson fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Lac Germanneau is 1.6 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Minson in what we hold.
