Rain moving through today, with flat calm through the day and steady pressure. Fish at Lac Milune should hold close to the weed line and any gaps in it. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Milune is one of the Lanaudière waters in Quebec. The surroundings are lake country bush. Surface area is around 25 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The full circuit measures close to 2.4 km on foot. Some 19 km away sits Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm, the nearest settlement. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 95 km distant. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Across Lanaudière, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Milune gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Averages move between -15°C in January and 17°C in July. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The water is typically free of ice between early May and late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. At Lac Milune the season follows that pattern closely.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Parking is at P1, some 450 m off. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. If the gate is shut, Lac Catherine at 1.2 km is the nearest alternative. The position on Lac Milune is worth confirming on the day.
