Solid cloud cover today, with an easy breeze from the WSW and no real change in pressure. Give structure within a cast of the bank the first hour at Lac Milot. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Milot is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean listings for Quebec. The surroundings are rolling bush. Roughly 1.05 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. Around 8.6 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. It ranks high for size among our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean listings. The closest town, Pont Rouge, is 22 km distant. Further out sit Sainte-Monique (23 km) and Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc (23 km). It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Lac Milot the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -19°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. The season on Lac Milot follows the weather closely.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. For a change of water, Lac Epiphane is 2.1 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Milot in what we hold.
