A grey, even sky over the water, with a mirror surface most of the day and steady pressure. Activity on Lac Milletiere should centre on bays that hold the day's warmth. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Milletiere falls in Laurentides, part of Quebec. Height above sea level is 386 metres. At about 79 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The bank runs about 4.2 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Size puts it in the front rank of our Laurentides list. Supplies mean a trip to Ferme-Neuve, 90 km off. Mont-Laurier is 105 km and Saint-Boniface 108 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Laurentides, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Anyone new to Lac Milletiere should walk it once before setting up.
The warm month here averages 17°C; the cold one sits at -17°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Lac Milletiere runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Access is not recorded for this water. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Failing this one, try Lac Patten, 1.5 km away. Nothing on Lac Milletiere should be assumed from this page alone.
